On Thursday, August 25, Guinea, West Africa djembefola Sayon Camara will join NH bands on stage for an evening of world music, funk and jazz at the Lakes Region’s newest music venue, the NH Jazz Center, in Laconia, NH.
The evening, which gets underway at 8pm, will begin with the music of West Africa with Sayon Camara and Landaya Ensemble, a NH-based group of musicians who have studied extensively music of the Mandinka tradition.
Sayon will also join Donkilo! Afro Funk Orkestra for their unique fusion of funk, jazz, and afrobeat, featuring some of the areas most talented musicians, including Jared Steer (drums), Mike Rossi (bass), Matt Langley (tenor sax), Jim Dozet (guitar), Scott Solsky (guitar), and Dave Kobrenski (Fula flute, kamale ngoni, and djembe).
The NH Jazz Center is located at Pitman’s Freight Room, at 94 New Salem Street, Laconia, NH.
