Our April 2007 Photo of the Month comes from the village of Sanankoro, in the Hamanah region of Guinea. The village is an hour walk from Sangbarala, the home village of Famoudou Konaté (shown playing djembe in this photo).

This festival was unique to the village of Sanankoro, and featured the rhythm Sofa, and occurred after the Tabaski festival was finished.
